Craft Therapy

It's been awhile since I've had the time to do any serious crafting. Let me tell you, it's craft-therapy for me. I found this lovely piece last fall and never found the time to refinish it. Of course in the busiest time of my life  with wedding planning, ZTA Presidency, house-hunting, going to school, and breathing, I decided to paint it a beautiful Tiffany blue. The photo doesn't do the color justice.

Special thanks to Chris for putting a new back on this wonderful creation and for putting up with it in your living room all week =)

The grand finale!

Project Wedding

I can't believe how fast our engagement has gone! It's been wonderful, amazing, perfect, and everything I could ask for. It has been so much fun for me to work closely with my mom, my sister, my grandma, oh and Chris, to plan every last detail. I have loved seeing my personal style come out little by little. I have learned that my style is a little more "out-there" than the rest of the women in my family but they've reeled me back in for sure. In my pre-ring dreaming, I wanted this super edgy, modern wedding. In my early-ring planning, I wanted a romantic, elegant affair. Now that I'm in the last stage of the planning, I've found that I'm actually a little more unique and vintage than I thought. Since we're moving along with the unique, vintage feel I recently found myself in this interesting place called "Boyle's Joyland." Let me tell you people, it's anything but joyful in there. It is an old carnival supply store (which still has the creepy clowns lurking every corner) that has now turned into a heap of old junk. In case the clowns don't deter you enough, they have an old cat caged up by the register that is apparently let out at night to catch the mice. Yikes! It was evident how much Chris loved me when he ventured into a place like that. Needless to say, Boyle's Joyland prevailed. For a small price, we left "Not-So-Joyland" with a beautiful, brand new chandelier for our wedding. The box reeked of Joyland but the chandelier was still in its original packing. At this point, I was pretty impressed with our bargain hunting. I have great expectations for this chandelier so stay tuned for the update! Below is a picture of the beautiful purchase. Paisley must have heard us talk about Boyle's because she was pretty unsure of it herself.
